Take additional protective measures for voltages on the N connection that
are dangerous if touched
Voltages up to the nominal input voltage of the I/O module (U
measured directly if it is ensured that no voltage to ground that is dangerous if
touched can exist on the N connection of the I/O module during normal
operation. If this is not ensured, additional protective measures must be taken
(e.g., use of voltage transformers with basic insulation).
Otherwise, touch-proof protection from the system may no longer be given in the
event of a fault. This can cause electric shock or burns.
The 3 voltage measuring paths are not electrically isolated from the
4 current measuring paths
The N connection represents the device-internal reference potential for all
electrical measurements.
Additional unintended potential differences between the N connection and the
current connections can lead to incorrect measured values and the destruction of
the I/O module.
The current connections must not be grounded.
Functional ground – FE
To discharge interference, the N connection must be connected to the DIN-rail
via a 2 nF capacitor and a spring contact. To achieve functional grounding, the
DIN-rail must be grounded.
