Information on batteries
Batteries give off explosive gases.
➥ Avoid smoking, fire or open flames near batteries.
Do not place any tools on batteries. Short-circuiting the
terminals produces sparks that ignite escaping battery
acid vapors.
Battery acid is caustic. Avoid contact with the skin,
eyes, mouth and clothing.
➥ Wear protective equipment.
➥ In case of contact, immediately rinse the
contaminated part of the body with plenty of water
and seek medical attention.
Always take off metal jewelry and watches before
performing work on the battery or the electrical
system.
Dispose of old batteries in an environmentally friendly
manner and separately from other waste.
