Timing Chain Cover and Timing Chain
Inspection
Timing Chain Tensioner
Check shoe (1) for wear or damage.
If any malcondition is found, replace timing chain tensioner.

Crankshaft Timing Sprocket
Check teeth of sprocket for wear or damage.
If any malcondition is found, replace crankshaft timing sprocket.
Timing Chain
Check timing chain for wear or damage.
If any malcondition is found, replace timing chain.
Timing Chain Tensioner Adjuster
Check that sliding surfaces are free from damage.
If any malcondition is found, replace timing chain tensioner
adjuster.
