PRINTER UTILITY ERROR CONDITIONS

Cannot Interpret Message Log Errors

Problem Description
The Message Log page displays the list of error, warning, and
informational messages generated by the controller. By selecting
an individual entry in the Message Log, you can view the
information about the record, including the Date/Time, Severity,
Subsystem, Description, Location, and Data Path.
Corrective Action
For a complete list of Error Messages, refer to the table "Jobs Log
Status Messages".
Changes Made to ipc1-im8130 Settings Did Not Take
Effect
Problem Description
Changes made to controller properties or copier attribute settings
did not take effect.
Corrective Action
Sometimes when you make changes to controller settings from
Printer Utility, you may have to reboot the controller for the
changes to take effect. When you change copier attributes, you
must turn the copier off and back on again for the changes to take
effect.

Jobs Log Status "Unserviceable"

Problem Description
Unless there is a hardware error, a job is considered
"unserviceable" if the controller does not support the features
selected for the job. This most often occurs when a non-
Imagistics driver is used to submit a job to the controller.
For example, it is possible to select an HP LaserJet driver in a
®
Windows environment and direct it to the network port to which
the controller is attached. Since the default configuration is PCL,
the controller may not recognize that the print commands are
coming from a non-Imagistics driver and request services the
ipc1-im8130 does not provide.
