    Preface Congratulations on purchasing the Imagistics Electronic Document Processing System. These systems incorporate the im8130/im6530 digital copier with the ipc1-im8130 controller to provide a one-source solution for all your document copying and network printing needs. This Administrator’s Guide provides detailed instructions for setting up the controller and installing client software, transforming the digital copier into a complete, network-connected, document processing system.

    INSTALLATION OVERVIEW The Imagistics Electronic Document Processing Systems consist of several integrated hardware and software components. The default installation settings are designed to suit the needs of most sites, so they may need adjustment for your network environment. Accordingly, forethought and planning play critical roles in a successful implementation.

    Imagistics service technician usually prior to and independent of the network implementation. Controller Your Imagistics service technician also installs the controller, which is physically mounted on the back of the digital copier and connected to the PCI bridge board.

Enable or disable the Internetwork Packet Exchange/Sequenced Packet Exchange (IPX/SPX) protocol and set the appropriate frame type. Enable or disable Server Message Block (SMB). Enable or disable the AppleTalk protocol and enter an AppleTalk name and zone.

Both Microsoft print services and controller software updates require the workgroup name. By default, the workgroup name is WORKGROUP. However, you can change it to retain consistency within your network.
