ELECTRIC STARTER
STARTER MOTOR
REMOVAL
• Remove the negative cable at the battery before
servicing the starter motor.
Remove the cylinder (page 9·4).
Slide the rubber cap off the starter motor terminal,
and remove the terminal nut and starter motor
cable .
Remove the two mounting bolts, ground cable,
stay
and starter motor from the crankcase.
DISASSEMBLY IINSPECTION
Remove the fo llowing:
- a'ring
- Starter motor case bolts and
a-rings
