ignition timing
is factory
preset and only
needs
to be
checked when an electrical system
component is
replaced

Warm up the engine to normal operating
tempera-
ture.
Stop
the
engine and
remove the
timing
hole
cap.
Connect
the timing light
to
the direct
ignition coil
connector
wire.
Connect a
tachometer.
Read
the instruction for timing light
operation.
Start
the
engine
and hold
it
at
1,700
±
100
rpm while
pointing
the timing
light towards the
index mark.
