PISTON INSTALLATION
When cleamng
the
cylinder mating
surface, place
a
shop towel over the
cylinder openmg to
prevent dust or dirt
from entermg the
engine.
Clean any gasket
materia
l from the cylinder mating
surfaces of the crankcase.
Apply molybdenum oi
l
solution to the connecting
rod small end.
Place a shop towel around the piston ski
rt
and
in
the
crankcase
t
o prevent the piston pin clips from falling
into the crankcase.
Apply oil
t
o the piston pin outer surface and piston
pin hole of the piston
.
Install the piston with the
"IN"
mark
f
acing intake
side.
Be careful no/ to
Install the piston pin and new

Always use new piston pin clips. Reinstalling
used piston pin clips may lead to serious engine
