CHARGING VOLTAGE INSPECTION
Be
sure
the battery is
in
good
condition before
per-
forming
this
test.
Warm up the
engine
to normal
operating
tempera-
tu re.
Connect the multi meter between the battery posi-
tive
(+)
and negative
H
term inals.
NOTE
:
To prevent a short, make absolutely
cenain
which
are the positive 1+) and negative
(-)
terminals or
cables
.
Measure the
voltage on
the multimeter
when
the
engine runs at
5,000
rpm.

Remove the fuel tank
(page
2-7).
Disconnect the regulator/rectifier 4P
(Natural) con-
nector
and
alternator
4P
(Black)
connector,
and
check
it
for
loose contacts
or corroded terminals.
If the
charging
voltage rea

is
out of
the specification, check the following
