snmp-server community

Use the snmp-server community command in Global Configuration mode to set up the
community access string to permit access to the SNMP protocol. To remove the specified
community string, use the no form of this command. This Command places the user in SNMP-
Community-Configuration mode.
Syntax
snmp-server community
viewname
no snmp-server community
community-string — Permits access to the SNMP protocol. (Range: 1-20 characters)
— Indicates read-only access
ro
— Indicates read-write access.
rw
— Indicates SNMP administrator access.
su
ipaddress — Specifies the IP address of the management station. If no IP address is specified,
all management stations are permitted.
viewname — Specifies the name of a previously defined view. For information on views, see
the user guidelines. (Range: 1-30 characters)

No community is defined.

User Guidelines
You can not specify
view name to restrict the access rights of a community string. When it is specified:
An internal security name is generated.
The internal security name for SNMPv1 and SNMPv2 security models is mapped to an
internal group name.
The internal group name for SNMPv1 and SNMPv2 security models is mapped to a view
name. If ro is specified, then read-view and notify-view are mapped. If rw is specified, then
read-view, notify-view, and write-view are mapped.
