Image quality problems

If you follow the steps below and do not resolve the problem, contact your Muratec dealer.
Symptom
Printing is faint
(smudged, unclear)
White or black spots is printed

Black stripes or smudges are
printed

Regularly spaced smudges or
stripes are printed

Cause
The paper is damp.
The contrast setting is incorrect.
The drum unit is worn out or
broken.
The toner is running low.
Isn't the original document yellow
or green?
Isn't paper other than that specifi ed
in this manual?
You are using the wrong type of
paper.
The drum unit is worn out or
broken.
The document glass or platen cover
pad is dirty.
The ADF glass in the ADF or the
document feeder roller is dirty.
Dirt is attached on the paper feeder
route.
The drum unit is worn out or
broken.
The paper is damp.
You are using the wrong type of
paper.

Countermeasure
Replace with a new paper.
Set correctly.
Replace with a new drum unit
Replace with a new toner bottle.
For reception, ask the sender to
change the document to a black
color. (Copying is recommended.)
Use the paper specifi ed in this
manual.

Replace with a new drum unit.
Clean the document glass or platen
cover pad.
