Eight types of râdios are âvailable: AM Pushbufion,
AM/Stereo 8-Track Tâpe, AM/FM, AMIFM Stereo, AM/
FM Stereo/Stereo tape, ÀM,/FM Ster€o with CB, AM,/FM
Stereo/Digital Clock, and AMIFM Stereo Cassette Tape.
The ieft knob operâtes the on-off swilch and volumn€
control, the left ring operates the tone control. The right
hand knob conrrols manual tuning. All AM,/FM radios
have five push buttons (10 station selections) five on AM
and five on FM.
On câIs equipped with â rear seat speaker, a variable
control located behind the mânuâi tuning knob âdjusts the
volume of the fuont and rear speakers. Tu
the control
clockwise to increâse reâr speaker volume ând decrease
front speaker volume. Tùrn the control counterclockwise
and therear speaker volùmedecreases
ând th€ ftont speaker
volume increâses. Both sp€ak€Ë âre controlled toegelherby
the volume control knob.
On cârs equipped with stereo lâdios, this control varres
front and rear speaker volume to obtain th€ desired balance
for stereo separation.
AM,/FM MONAURAL (Non-Stereo)
This râdio is identicâl to the AM radio as fâr as the
operaiion on the on-off and volume control, tone control
manuâl tuning controi and pushbuttons are concerned. The
AM/FM
selector bar is located below the dial face-
Movem€nt ofthe bar to the lefi (FM) or right (AM) selects
the type of reception.
AM,/FM STEREO
"À" and "B" models have foùr speakers; right rearând
left front on one chânn€I, l€ft rear and right froni the other
channel. ''F" models use three speakers; one front and tilo
rear. "X" modeis use two speakers. For best stereo
reception, set tone control to center detent Position, adjust
fâder control so thât sound is balanced for greâtest ster€o
€ffect. A light on the froni panel of the radio will light when
the râdio is turned !o a stereo signal.
AM WITH STEREO 8.TRACK TAPE AND AM/
F M
STEREO WITH STEREO 8.TRÀCK TAPE
With the AM ând AMIFM stereo râdio ând eighttrack
tape player combinâtion units, the tape cartridge is insert€d
through the spring loaded dial face ând power is
âutomâticâlly swirched from the radio to lhe tape player.
Tâpe progrâms ar€ changed by pushing the volume
To releâse the tape cartridge, depress the eject
pushbutton and remov€ canridge. with the tape cartridge
out. power is automaticâlly returned to the râdio.
NOTICE: DO NOT USE Silicone spray lubricants for
swiich. plunger or lâpe heâd lubrication.
AM/FM STEREO WITH CASSETTE TAPE
A cassette AMIFM
Stereo combination radio is
âvailable on "A', '8" and "F" models.
Th€ operation of the câssette plâyer requires that the
cartridge be inserted through the door endwise and
positioned according to the outline on the door. The radio
is automatically turned off
To advance to the next seleciion, push the fast forward
button at the {ght end of the tape door. Sound is off dudng
the fast forward operâiion. To release fast forwârd button
from lock€d in position, push eject button on left end of tape
Only 2 programs are âvâilâble on cassettes and it is
necessâry to eject the câssette, turnitover and iûsert il agâin
in the position outlined on th€ doo..
30 or 60 minute cassettes produce the best sound and
should be removed from theplayerwhen not in ùs€. As with
8-track tapes, cassett€s should be storcd âway from extreme
heat or direct sùnlight.
To maintain quality sound reproduction, the plâyer
pick-up head and câpstân should be cieaned âfter €very 100
hoùrs of op€râtion usins â cotton swab dipped in rubbing
alcohol- There are also cl€aning tapes available for this
purpos€ and the manufactùrer's insûuctions for their use
must be followed.
BANDSWITCH
All AM,/FM radios have a band selector bar. Moving
the bând selecto. bar to the left engages the FM band and
the right engages the AM band. Any preset statron may be
selected by pushing one of the 5 pushbuttons Each
pushbutton can be prcs€t for both ân AM and ân FM
station.
A N T E N N A S
All series cars with AM or AMIFM râdio will have
â windshield antenna unless â power antenna is ordered.
"A", "8" and "F" models may hâv€ power antennâs
instâlled âs oplional equipment. The power antennâ will
automâtically râise to its maximum height of âbout thirty
inch€s when the radio is lurned on and will go bâck down
when the râdio or ignition switch is tum€d off All power
ântennas (except "F" models) âremoùnted in th€ right front
fender. "F" rnodels have left fron! fender mounted power

A combination in-dâsh ÀMIFM Stereo radio and CB
trânsc€iver with a common speaker syst€m and a common
display and control pânel is âvâilable on "4", "B' and "F"
The CB trânsceiver and radio is a one-piece unit. The
displays and controls for the combination unit will âll be
moùnt€d on the car râdio fâce panel.
The outer left knob operâtes the on-off switch and
volume control for both the CB rrâns-receiver and car radio
