Adjust lension to specification.
Fill reservoir to proper level.

Remove burrs or dirl or replace.

Pay particular âttertion to ihe exact source ofleakage
as ân improper diâgnosis will resuit in ân ineffective repair.
L Replace adjuster plug "O" ring sۉl.
2. Replâce dust and stub shaft seals. Refer to above or
stub shâft seal ride.
3. Replâce rotary valve âssembly-
4. Seat ball flush with punch and restâke. If seepage
persits, replâce housing.
5. Replace both pitman shaft s€âls. Ref€r to above on
seal ride ârea of pitmân shaft-
6. Replâce end plug "O" ring seal.
7. Tighaen nut to specificâtions. Replâce nut ifleakage
persists.
8. Replâce side cover "O" ring seal.
9. If leakage persists upon tightening the fittiDg nut to
specificâtions replâce brass connector and refâce hose tube
flare. If l€akage is due lo damaged threads (cross threaded),
replace brâss connector. Repab fitting nut or replâce hose
âs required. If housing threads are badly stripp€d, replace
hoùsing.
PUMP LEAKAGE DIAGRAM (Fig. 383-101
10. Tighten hose fitting nut to specificâtions. If leakage
persists, replace dischârge fitting and reface hose tube flare
or replâce hose âs required.
11. Tighten fitting to specifications. If leakâge persjsts,
reptace both 'o" ritg seals.
12. Replace reserYoù "O" ring.
13. Replace drive shaft seal. Refer to above on seal ride
ârea of drive shaft.
14. Replâce reser!oir.
15. Ch€ck oil level. If leakage persists with the level
right and the cap tight, replace the câp.
