Discard rhe rwo seal ring.
8. Remove governor âssembly and governor to case
wâsher fiom case. Refer to Figure 7A-21.
NOTICE: If the governor to câse washer falls off the
governor, use a small magnet to remove th€ washer
f.om the case. If wâsher cannot be retri€ved €asily,
replace with new washer.
9. For inspection ofthe govemo., refff to the overhaul
section. Instâllation ofthe governor assembly is the reverse
of the removal.
CAUTION: Do not use any typo of
hammsr to install govornor asssmbly and
cov6r into caso.

PRESSURE REGULAÎOR VALVE
Rgmoval
I. Referring to drâining procedures, drain trânsmission
lluid from oil pan.
2. Remove oil pan and screen. Discard gasket.
3. Pushing on pressure regulator vâlve bore plug,
compress pressure regulator spring with smâll screwdriver
or Tool J-21684 as shown in Figùr€ 7A-22.
4. Remove retaining ring, withdrâw screwdriver or tool
dowly to release spdng tension.
5. Remove pressure regulâtor bore plug, valve, spring
and guide. Refer lo the "Pass€nger Car ând Light Duty
Truck overhaul ManuâI" for inspection procedure.
lnstallation
l.Install pressure reguiato. spring first, guide and then
vâlve, stem end out and bore plug hoie side out.
2. Pushing with screwdriver or Tool J-24684 as shown
in figure 7A-22 push bore plug pasr relajning rins groove
by compressing pressure reguiator valve spring.
I lnstall retaining ring.
4. Refer to " Maintenance and Adjustments " for correct
fluid level.
VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY
Replacêmênt
l. Refering to draining procedures, drain trânsmission
fluid from oil pan.
2. Renove oil pan and screen. Discard gask€t.
3. Remove screw and washer securing cable to
transmission and disconnect detent cable.
4. Remove throttle l€ver and bracket âssembly. Do not
bend throttle lever link.
5. Remove mânuâl detent roller and sping assembly.
6. Support vâlve âssembly and remove retaining bolts.
7. Holding manual valve with fingers, remov€ valve
