B O D Y M O U N T S

R E P L A C I N G E O D Y M O U N T S
The removal of any one body mount n€cessitates the
loosening of âdjacent body mountings io permit the frame
to be separated from the body. Care should be exercised ro
Prevent breakage ofplâstic fân shroud;or damâg€ to frâme
attâchments such as st€€ring column, brake pipes, etc.,
during r€placement of body mounts.
During installâtion of a body mouni, caution should
be us€d to insure that the body moùnt is properly seated in
the frâme mounting hole, othelwise a direct metai to metal
contact will result between the frame and body. The tube
spacer shoùld be in all boltin body moùnts and the insùlâtor
or metal washer positioned to prevent contact with the
lrame side rail. Do not over+orque the body mount or a
stripped bolt may result.
Do not use lubricants ofany kind on the rubber parts
of the mounts. Proper clamping by the mount depends on
clۉn and dry su.faces. If the body mount bolt does not
screw in smoothly, it mây be necessary to run a tap through
the cagenut in thebodyto remove for€ign mateial. Caution
should also be used to insure that tap doesn'tpùnch through
underbody.
