TEMPERATURE (COOLING SYSTEM)
INDICATOR
The temperâtute indicator circuit consists of two
remotely located units; indicator gage and engine sender
unit. The indicator gagg locat€d in the instrument pânel,
consists of a red Iight whjch sill indicâte ân overteâted
engine condition. Check the waier pump belt iension first.
Engine Sending Unil R€plâcement
NOTICE: Th€ engine coolani warning system is
d€sign€d to wam tle driver ofân overheâting condition
at approximately 5 - l0'below the syst€m coolant
boiling point. Use of plain {'ater witlout the addition
of permdedt arti-freeze to â proiection level of 0'F
G18'C) can cause the tempemture overh€at waming
light rot to come on even though water is boiling.
1. Relieve coolant system pr€ssure by loosening
2. Remove sender unit (located in the left cylinder head
oû V-8 engines, and in the cylindd head near an exhaust
port on L6 ergines). Replace witl new unit.
3. Ch€ck coolant system level and opdation of unit.
