H6âter Water Valvg
This valve is located on the engine. Its function is to
pâss or block flow of water to the heater. It is normally open
but is closed by vacuum from the programmer vacuùm valve
when the prcgrammer is positioned ât 'Max A/C'.

Recirc Air Vacuum Circuit
The recirc air âctuator is conn€cted by the orange hose
to port 4 on the progrâmm€r. This port is vent€d ar all
programmer positions €xcept "Max A/C', resulting in
outside air. At "Max A/C", port 4 is connected to port 3
which is connectedby the white hose to pon 2 on thecontrol
head. Port 2 is coniected to check vacuum at port I at the
"AUTO', "HI". 'BI-LEVEL" and 'DEF" seirings. Thus.
if the programmer is at "Max A/C" and the conlror ls at
"AUTO', 'HI", "BI-LEVEL" or "Def" recirc air operation
will be obtained-
Diverter Mode Door Vacuum Circuit
The Diverter-Mode DoorActuator is connected by two
hoses (tan and pink) to pons on the conùol h€ad vâcuum
switch. Under these conditions, checked vacuum is f€d ro
the âctuator which positions the mode door in A/C, BI-
LEVEL or Heât positions.
Defroster Door Vacuum Circuit
The Defroster vâcuum actuator is conn€cted by a red
hose to â port on the control head vacuum switch, Under
defrost condiiions checked vacuum is fed to the actuator
which positions two doors at rhe centd dâsh outlets closing
off airflow to the dâsh outlets ând two rectângular doors
which open to âllow ai. flow to the Defrost outlets.
Heatêr Wator Valvê Vacuum Circuil
The wêter valve is connected to port 1 of the
programmer which is vented, openiry the valve, at all
programmer positions except ât the "Max A/C" end oî
travel. There it is connect€d, as shown, to pon 5 which is
connected by the dark green hose to port 5 on the control
head, At "ECONOMY'', 'LO', 'AU"IO' and 'HI", port
5 is connected to checked vâcuum at port I, closing the
valve, when programmer is in MAX. A/C position.

A complete vacuum circuit diagram is shown in Fig.
lC-9. Included âre "clocks" which show lhe internal
connections of the programmer and control head vacuum
valves at various positions ând settings.
