(Figs. 3A'4 through 3A.7)
To use the Fiont Alignmeût Correction Charts, first
select the corrcct chart for the vehicle being align€d.
Determine the present alignment of the subject vehicie. Find
the cambe. reading on the chart (left or right side) and the
caster reading (for the proper vehicle ând options). Trace
to the point of intersection. The three digit code for front
and rear bolts indicates the shim change necessary to arrive
at the proper specification. Add or subtract shims from the
Èont or rear bolt as indicated. Retorque bolts ând check
corrected âlignmert setting.
A normal shim pack should contain a maximum of one
smâll and one medium shim. Adjust shim pack as necessaly
without changing final dimension to meet this requircment.
Example Use of Correction Chart
1. A B model should have Caster of +3'( E0.5')j and
CÂmber of +0.8' (+0.5').
2. Suppose the example vehicle shows + 3.6" caster
and 0' Carnber on the left side, and + 2.6' Caster and + 1'
Cafiber on the right side.
3. Specificâtions show realignrnent ;s âdviseâble.
4. By using the chafi we cân determine thal a left side
shirn pâck chânge of one large shim subtmcted from the
front bolt ând one lârye, one medium, ând one small shim
subtracted from the ftar bolt will bing the left side to
specification.
5. On the right side add one medium ând one small on
the reâr bolt.
6. Th€se changes will bring the vehicle close to the
