whenever removing B-Series control ârms, always be
sùre to reinslall lhe same control ârm, or one idettical to

B-Series Upper Control Arm (U.C,A.)
U,C.A. R€moval
CAUTION; S€€ CAUTION on page 1 of
this section.
If borh conlrol ârms are to b€ replâcêd. remove and
replâce one control arm ât a time to prevett the âile from
rolling or slipping sideways âs this might ôccur rvith both
upper control arms removed, making replâcement difficult.
1. Raise vehicle on hois!.
2. Suppori nose of âxle housing wilh a jack stând.
3. Remove pivot bolt at axle hoùsing and lift upper
control arm to cleâr boss on axle housing.
4. Remole pivot bolt at frame crossmembe. and
remove upper control ârm.
Bushing Replacemgnt
l. Press out ihe Jront bushing as shown ln Figure 3D'
2. Install bushing âs shown in Fisure 3D-17. Install to
a height oi 5/16" from control arm lo lool.
3. For replacemenr of lhe rear bushing, use the
procedure listed in "A-Series U.C.A Reâr Bushmg
Rep.a-emen . See Irgure. .lD-21 and 3D-.22.
U.C.A. lnstallation
I Place control arm inlo position.
2. Instâll pivot bolt at fram€ crossmember.
3. InstâlL pivor bolt at axle housing.
4. Lower hôrs1.
5. With car at curb heighi, tigbten pivot bohs to
specifications.
NOTICE: All torque prevâiling nuts must b€ torqued
at the nut, not â1 boh heâd, to insure proper clamping

B-Series Lower Control Arm (L.C.A.)
L.C.A. Removâl
L Rajse vehicle on hojst. Suppor! axle to prevent
rotâtion wh€n arm is removed.
NOTICE: Ifboth rear suspension lower conirol arms
are to be removed, remove ând replace one ai a time
2. Remove front ând rear pivot bolts and remove arms

L Press out bushing using Tools J-21456-8, J-23737
and J-25317-2 âs shown in Figure 3D"16.
2. Instâlt rew bushing as shown in Figure 3D-1?
Install to â height of 5/16" from conrrol arm to tool
