wiih wire gage size becâuse the heavy insulation makes the
link âppear a heâvjer gâge than it actually is.
Engine compârtment wiring harnesses incorporate
several lusible links. The sâmesize wire with speciâl hypalon
insulâtion must be used when replacing â fusible link.
The links âre:
1 A mold€d splice at the stafter solenoid "Bat"
terninal, 14 gâge red wire. Servicing requires splicing in a
2. A 16 gâge red lusiblelink is located ât junction block
to prctect all unfused wiring of 12 gâge or larger- The link
is terminated at th€ bulkhead connector.
3. The generator wârning light and field circuitry (16
gage wire) is protected by a fusible link (20 gage red wire)
used in the "ba$ery feed to voltâge regulâtor #3 terninal"
wire. The link is installed âs a nolded splice in the circuit
ât the jùnction block. Service by splicing in a new 20 gâge
4. The ammeter circuit is protected by two.ed 20 gauge
wire fusible links inslâlled âs mold€d splices in the circuit
at thejunction block and battery to stârter circuit. Se.vice
by splicing h new 20 gage wi.e.
