The ventilation slits on the Ascotel
PBX systems must be kept free to
ensure the necessary circulation of air.
Ascotel PBX systems must not be
installed in areas subject to explosion
hazards.
Safety-related operations such as
earthing, assembly, connection to the
power mains, etc., can be found from
the regulations of the System Manual.
ESD guidelines are to be observed
when touching any system component
with electronic parts. PCBs are to be
stored and shipped only in the special
antistatic packaging provided for that
purpose.
When connecting non-system
equipment such as switchgear, music
sources, etc., to the Ascotel, take note
of and observe the electrical limit val-
ues specified in the System Manual.
Operating safety
Ascotel PBX systems are connected
to the mains voltage when in opera-
tion. If the mains power supply is inter-
rupted, the system will no longer be
ready to operate. The "uninterruptible
power supply" option guarantees a
reliable operation in the event of a
mains failure. The power rating can be
found in the System Manual.
2 General Product Information
Environment
Ascotel PBX systems are delivered in
recycled, chlorine-free corrugated
cardboard packaging. The systems are
also wrapped inside a protective fleece
made of polyethylene foam fleece for
added protection during shipping. The
packaging is to be disposed of in
accordance with the guidelines stipu-
lated under current legislation.
Ascotel PBX systems contain plastics
based on a sorted ABS, sheet steel
with an aluminium-zinc finish, and
epoxy resin-based PCBs. These materi-
als are to be disposed of in accordance
with the guidelines stipulated under
current legislation.
The PBX systems are disassembled
exclusively using detachable screwed
connections.
