Call Deflection
Call deflection (CD) is a supplementary service for ISDN subscribers and is available
only on a point-to-multipoint connection. Call deflection can be used to reroute
a call during the ringing phase. The feature is not offered at the user-network
interface; it is used for this application only.
Partial Rerouting
Partial rerouting (PARE) is a supplementary service for PBX operators and is avail-
able only on a point-to-point connection (basic and primary rate access).
Diversion Procedure
Call diversion is transferred to the exchange as follows (Fig. 2.89):
• Subscriber B activates a call diversion to subscriber C.
• Subscriber A calls subscriber B.
• The PBX carries out the call diversion locally in the PBX. Two B channels are
busy.
• The PBX activates PARE or CD at the public network provider.
• The network provider takes charge of the call diversion; the 2 B channels are
freed.
• Subscriber C is called. He is presented with subscriber A's phone number by
way of CLIP.
Call charges:
• Subscriber A pays the call charges up to the diversion location in the network.
• Subscriber B pays the call charges from the diversion location to subscriber C.
Diversion Functions Supported
The system routes the following diversions to the exchange:
• Call diversion (CD)
• Call diversion if busy
• Call forwarding
When call forwarding is activated, the phone will only ring at subscriber C after
the diversion, in the same way as for an ordinary call diversion.
