• The boot software creates the [instboot] folder in the root of the SD memory card. Store the file in the folder.
• When update could not be normally completed because an error was detected after update of the boot
software was started, RUN LED turns OFF and PROGRAM RUN LED and CARD READY LED shows "fast
flashing". After dealing with the error, carry out update again.
When reading the SD memory card is abnormal, check the SD memory card.
When the boot rom file is abnormal or when it cannot be recognized, check the boot rom file.
• Boot software update and software installation from the SD memory card cannot be executed
simultaneously. When there are both folders, boot software update is executed.
• The forced stop function of the SD memory card cannot be used during update execution from the SD
memory card. Do not remove the SD memory card during update.

21.3 Boot Software Update Function
Description
Flashing (every 500 ms): Updating the boot rom
Boot rom update is normally completed
Flashing (every 200 ms): Boot rom update is
completed with an error.
Remedy
Wait until boot rom update is completed.
Reset the system, and check that the motion system can
be normally turned RUN/STOP.
Turn the power of the motion system OFF to ON, or reset
the system, then execute boot rom update again.
