Remove Bimetal - Maytag MFR Series Service Manual

Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before
operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.
1. Remove door lock assembly
(See page 4-23).
2. Remove three flat blade screws that hold
the latch bar leaf spring in place over the
latch handle bar.
nOTe: The latch handle bar is located
below the latch bar leaf spring.
3. Remove two flat blade screws that secure
the bimetal into the door lock assembly.

4. Lift the bimetal from the door lock assembly
remove two wire connectors.

5. Remove the blocking bar.
6. Guide the top end of the blocking bar over
the tip of the bimetal when installing new
bimetal.
