4.
Inspect bearing housing for any dirt, grease
and debris on bearing seats, bearing stop
and snap ring. Clean surfaces with a
Scotch-Brite™ pad to remove dirt. Avoid
removing any material that would change
the dimension of the surfaces. Do not use
a degreaser to clean a bearing or bearing
housing because degreaser can degrade
lubricant if it gets into bearings. Remove
any grease and dirt with a clean dry rag.
5.
If no ventillation hole is present at the top
of the bearing housing, drill 2 holes, side
by side, at 1mm (.4") from the flange with
a 9mm (.35") drill bit. Clean all drilling
particles from the assembly.
