Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before
operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.
Do not use a phase Converter or "Roto-
Phase" device with an inverter washer,
because damage will occur to the inverter.
Do not restrict air flow around the inverter.
Proper air flow is essential for long life of the
inverter.
Do not replace the Maytag drive motor with
another brand motor or with a motor from
another supplier. The inverter may not work
properly or may be damaged.
Do not replace the inverter with another
brand inverter. The washer may not function
properly or safely.
Do not allow the inverter to be subjected to
excessive heat or humidity, because corrosion
of contacts will not allow the inverter to
operate correctly.
Do not install ground fault interrupt style
circuit breakers of any type, other than type
approved by the manufacturer, in series with
the power to the washer, because power to
the washer will be interrupted frequently.
Do not connect AC line power to the output of
the inverter (terminals "U", "V" & "W"), damage
will occur immediately to the inverter.

inveRTeR "DO nOT'S"

8-7
Do not run an inverter on an AC generator.
Erratic operation or damage may occur to the
inverter.
Do not install a washer with an inverter over a
drain pit or trough due to the high probability
of moisture and soap rising from the pit and
corroding electrical connections.
Do not allow an inverter model washer/
extractor to operate with excessive vibration
due to installation defects, foundation
problems, or severe out-of-balance loads.
Vibration-related failures of the inverter will
occur under such severe conditions.
Do not allow chemical or water leaks onto, into
or around the inverter to continue. Correct
such problems immediately or permanent
damage will occur to the inverter.
Do not fail to clean the inverter's cooling
fins and fan on a regular basis. Replace
a malfunctioning cooling fan immediately,
because overheating causes premature failure
of the inverter.
Do not operate an inverter washer on
excessively high or excessively low voltage
sources which could stress the inverter
causing premature failure of the inverter.
Do not fail to confirm and reload parameters
when troubleshooting an inverter washer
in which an inverter fault code appears,
when commissioning a washer, replacing an
inverter, or when replacing the main control
board because the washer will not operate
properly. Make sure to match the setting to
the washer type & model in which the inverter
is installed.
