7. With two people, pull the bearing housing
away from the back of the washer, sliding
it off the guide rods. Set it down with the
back down.
nOTe: Maytag suggests that the entire
trunnion assembly be replaced (skip to
step 38). When an entire trunnion is not
available, it will be necessary to continue
from here.
8. Clean the gasket material off from the
center ring from around the opening at the
back of the outer tub.
9. Clean the gasket material off the face of the
bearing housing.
10. Remove four flat blade screws that secure
the seal holder to the bearing housing.

11. Use a large screwdriver that will fit under
the seal holder when inserted into a weep
hole. Use the screwdriver to pry the seal
holder out of the bearing housing.
12. Use a flat screwdriver or similar tool to pry
the seal from the seal holder.
13. Lift the grease ring out of the bearing
housing. A flat blade screwdriver can be
used as the pry tool.
