28. Pack grease into the both sides of the front
bearing and front side of the rear bearing.
nOTe: Video was shot without grease to
show assembly of parts more precisely.
29. Reinstall the grease ring, on top of the
front bearing, with flanged edge facing up.
30. Use a small piece of wood and a hammer
to tap the grease ring into place.
31. Clean the seal holder without changing
any dimensions or deforming the holder in
any way. Remove any sealant and dirt from
the surfaces.
32. To install the seal, apply a thin layer of
Scotch-Clad™ 776, to just the outside
edge of the seal. Avoid covering the entire
surface of the seal.
33. Place the new axial seal with the carbon
ring on top of the seal holder with carbon
ring facing outward.
34. Place this assembly on the floor. Use
tool #518858 to firmly seat the seal into the
holder by pressing with the palms of both
hands, or by stepping on the tool to firmly
seat the seal.
