A Valid Address (VADD) bit of zero indicates that the

The Response Code field is set to 70h for normal errors
and to 71h for deferred errors.
The
Filemark
command has read a filemark.
The End Of Media (EOM) bit indicates that the last
command
encountered
partition.
The Incorrect Length Indicator (ILI) bit indicates that
the requested logical block length did not match the
logical block length found on the tape.
This field holds information about the cause of error.
