Section 5 — Connecting the L-S, LCD Panel

There are different types of connections. Follow these steps to set the con-
nection settings for the different types:
LAN Systems

1. Select the
radio button for a LAN only system.
LAN
2. Enter the Device Number in the LAN/Serial Device # field.
3. Enter the IP address of the Host in the LAN Primary Host IP field.
4. Enter the Redundant IP address of the Host in the LAN Secondary Host
IP field.
5. Select the amount of time to wait for a response from the Control
module before timing out from the LAN Response Time-out drop-
down list.
This setting is helpful if you have Control panels located a long distance
away from a Control module. The options are: 20mS, 40mS, 60mS,
80mS, 100mS, 250mS, 500mS, and 1S.
Serial system
1. Select the
radio button for a Serial system.
Serial
2. Enter the Device Number in the LAN/Serial Device # field. The number
entered cannot be greater than sixteen.
Note
If the number entered exceeds the limits, 1-16, the field will appear red
(Figure
37) and you will need to enter a different number.

The Primary and Secondary LAN fields will not be editable.
