Engineering units calibration of the X-axis is achieved using the Flexible Cursor of the
2032, as follows:
1.
Index the 2032 Field Selector to the Auxiliary Information field of the CURSOR
SETUP, and set the field to FLEX.
2.
Index the 2032 Field Selector one position to the right.
3.
Enter the desired X-value corresponding to the current cursor position into this
field using the numeric keyboard, whereupon the Flexible Cursor read-out will al-
ways be referenced to this value.
a)
If the current cursor position is 480Hz, and the Flexible Cursor is set to read 8,0 at
this position, the Flexible Cursor read-out will be in cpm.
b)
If the current cursor position is on the
3rd
harmonic of a harmonic series and the
Flexible Cursor is set to read 3,0 at this position, the Flexible Cursor read-out will
be in harmonic number orders.
c)
If, in a measurement of sound in air at sea level, (velocity of sound
=
340 m/s), the
current cursor position is at 2,8 ms and the Flexible Cursor is set to read 0,952, the
Flexible Cursor read-out will be in metres.
