All parameter values can be entered via the numeric keyboard of the 2032. The param-
eter value entered is read in an "echo" field at the lower right of the 2032 display.
Entry of the parameter value is concluded by pressing the
·
"ENT" push key. Should the
entered value not correspond with an allowed setting of the parameter, the 2032 will
round it up or down accordingly. The range of parameter values which can be entered
is from 0,000 000 000 01
J.L
to 999 999 999 99 K, positive or negative, or in scientific nota-
tion from 0,000 000 000 01 E-99 to 999 999 999 99E 99, positive or negative.
The .. __ .. pushkey is used to erase erroneous characters entered via the keyboard prior
to pressing "ENT". Each press of "--" erases the next character to the left and re-
moves the symbol from the echo field. Holding the pushkey down causes repeated
erasure.
The "CLR" pushkey is used to erase all entered characters and the echo field. Note
that entering new characters after pressing "ENT" automatically erases all old charac-
ters and the echo field. However, "old" values in the echo field can also be used in
other fields by indexing to the required field and pressing "ENT".
Keyboard entry can be used to enter both numeric values and other parameter set-
tings, since each parameter setting is identified by a number, (see Chapter 5). For
instance, the COORDINATES field has six allowed settings which are numbered as
follows:
0 =Real
1 = Imaginary
2 = Magnitude
3 = Phase
4 = Nyquist
5 = Nichols
Selecting the COORDINATES field with the FIELD SELECT controls, and then entering
2 via the numeric keyboard will set the 2032 to display its results in terms of magni-
tude. Keyboard entry allows parameters to be set to illegal settings. However, entry of
an illegal setting is automatically indicated by the respective parameter field starting to
blink.
Note: In all parameter entry operations, change of one parameter might cause other
parameter settings to become illegal. An illegal setting will be indicated by the respec-
tive parameter field starting to blink.
