In the Number of Averages Field -
that the selected overlap has not been
achieved.

In the Data Source Field, with that field set to Equalized -
that the current mea-
sured data being equalized was measured with a different MEASUREMENT SETUP
to the STORED SETUP, that is the Setup S.
9.12. USE OF TRANSIENT AND EXPONENTIAL WINDOWS
When Transient or Exponential windows are used, direct visual feedback regarding
their shape and position can be obtained by switching to display of Time Ch. A or B
real part, or Enhanced Time Ch. A or
B
real part, as appropriate. This will allow a real-
time display of the resulting windows as the Weighting Shift and Length fields are
adjusted. Note that in Spectrum Averaging it is also necessary to select RECORD
"Cont." for this display.
Special Parameter 30, (see Section 12.5. 1'2), can be used in Spectrum Averaging to
free the windows, such that a real-time display of their shape and position is always
obtained, irrespective of the settings of the RECORD controls.
9.13. TRIGGERING THE 2032
9.13.1. Use of Internal Trigger
When the 2032 is triggered internally, the user has the choice of either triggering off
the input signal directly, or, (in baseband mode only), off the filtered input signal, that
is the signal after it has been bandlimited to the selected baseband frequency span.
When operating in a low baseband frequency span, the former might be preferable,
since variations in the filtered input signal might be slow and hence present a badly
defined trigger point, while the raw input signal might present a much better defined
trigger point. Triggering off the filtered input may become preferable, however, when
the raw input signal
con~ains
many short transients and out-of-band noise. These will
often be removed by the bandlimiting process, so removing the possibility of false
triggers.
9.13.2. Use of External Trigger
116
When the 2032 is externally triggered, the external trigger level, which is factory preset
to 1 V, can be varied from
<
0,5 V to 5 V. The procedure is as follows:
A
WARNING! Disconnect all power from the 2032 before attempting to remove or replace
its protective panels. Internal adjustments with mains power connected should only be
carried out by skilled persons who are aware of the hazards of dealing with live circuit-
ry.
1.
Disconnect all power supplies before removing any of the protective panels of the
2032. Remove the Analog Input Control Card ZD 270 from the 2032. Its location is
shown in Fig.9.3.
