What to do in an emergency
mean your TPMS is malfunctioning because the decreased temperature leads to a low-
ering of tire pressure.
僅 When you drive your vehicle from a warm area to a cold area or from a cold area to a
warm area, or the outside temperature is higher or lower, you should check the tire infla-
tion pressure and adjust the tires to the recommended tire inflation pressure.
僅 When filling tires with more air, conditions to turn off the low tire pressure telltale may
not be met. This is because a tire inflator has a margin of error in performance. The low
tire pressure telltale will be turned off if the tire pressure is above the recommended tire
inflation pressure.
NOTE
If any of the below happens, have the system checked by a professional workshop. Kia
recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
1. The low tire pressure telltale/TPMS malfunction indicator do not illuminate for 3 seconds
when the vehicle is in ON position or vehicle is running.
2. The TPMS malfunction indicator remains illuminated after blinking for approximately 1
minute.
3.The Low tire pressure position telltale remains illuminated.
When the telltale lights up

僅 One or more of the tires is significantly under-inflated (

僅 The corresponding position light will light up to indicate which tire is significantly under-
inflated.
僅 Reduce your speed, avoid hard cornering, and anticipate increased stopping distances.
僅 Stop and check the tires as soon as possible.
僅 Inflate the tires to the specified pressure.
僅 Replace the underinflated tire with a spare tire if this is not possible.

CAUTION
僅 The TPMS malfunction indicator may blink for approximately 1 minute and then remain
continuously illuminated if the vehicle is moving around electric power supply cables or
radios transmitter such as at police stations, government and public offices, broadcast-
ing stations, military installations, airports, or transmitting towers, etc. This can interfere
with normal operation of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
僅 The TPMS malfunction indicator may blink for approximately 1 minute and then remain
continuously illuminated if snow chains are used or some separate electronic devices
such as notebook computer, mobile charger, remote starter or navigation etc., are used
in the vehicle.
