Vehicle safety controls
Though the smoke and powder are nontoxic, they may cause skin irritation (eyes, nose,
throat, etc.). If this is the case, wash and rinse with cold water immediately and consult the
doctor if the symptom persists.
WARNING
僅 When the air bags deploy, the air bag related parts in the steering wheel and/or instru-
ment cluster and/or in both sides of the roof rails above the front and rear doors are
very hot. To prevent injury, do not touch the air bag storage areas internal components
immediately after an air bag has inflated.
僅 Do not install or place any accessories near air bag deployment areas, such as the
instrument cluster, windows, pillars, and roof rails.
Air bag warning light
Operating condition(s)
僅 When the vehicle is running, the air bag warning light should appear for approximately
3~6 seconds and go off.
Malfunction
僅 The air bag warning light does not turn on briefly when the vehicle is running.
僅 The air bag warning light stays on after illuminating for approximately 3~6 seconds.
僅 The air bag warning light comes on while the vehicle is moving.
Passenger's front air bag ON/OFF switch (if equipped)
Operation
1. Insert master key into the passenger's front air bag ON/OFF switch.
2. Turn the key to activate/deactivate passenger's front air bag.
僅 When the child restraint is installed on the front passenger's seat.
僅 When the seat is unoccupied.
