Vehicle controls
僅 Do not pull the inner door handle of driver's (or passenger's) door while the vehicle is
moving.
僅 The doors should always be fully closed and locked while the vehicle is in motion to pre-
vent accidental opening of the door. Locked doors will also discourage potential intrud-
ers when the vehicle stops or slows down.
僅 Be careful when opening doors and watch out for vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles or
pedestrians approaching the vehicle in the path of the door. Opening a door when
something is approaching can result in an accident to cause vehicle damage or serious
injury.
僅 Leaving your vehicle unlocked can invite theft or possible harm to you or others from
someone hiding in your vehicle while you are gone. Always remove the smart key,
engage the parking brake, close all windows and lock all doors when leaving your vehi-
cle unattended.
CAUTION
When you leave your vehicle with the smart key, make sure to press the button on the
front door handle or touch the touch sensor on the front door handle to lock the doors
after close all of the doors, the hood and the trunk. If you do not press the button or touch
the touch sensor firmly, the doors might not be locked so please use caution.
NOTE
僅 The outside rearview mirror will fold or unfold if On door unlock is selected from the
Settings menu in the infotainment system screen. Select:
- [[Settings → Vehicle → Convenience → Welcome mirror/light → On door unlock]]
僅 The doors may lock or unlock if the touch sensor of the outer door handle is recognized
while washing your car or due to heavy rain.
僅 The doors may not lock or unlock in the following situations:
- If the touch sensor is touched with gloves on
- If the door is suddenly approached
