Vehicle controls
3 Press the power tailgate open/close button inside the tailgate. The tailgate opens or
closes with a warning sound.
4 Press the power tailgate lock button while carrying the smart key. The tailgate closes
and locks automatically. Additionally, all doors will lock.
The tailgate can be closed and locked, and all doors locked only when the button is
pressed while the vehicle is in OFF position.
5 When the tailgate is opened, press and hold the power tailgate open/close button. The
tailgate will close automatically and the warning chime will sound. Press the power tail-
gate open/close button until the tailgate is closed completely. If the tailgate open/close
button is not pressed while closing, power tailgate will stop operate and warning chime
will sound for approximately 5 seconds.
Operating condition(s)
僅 When the gear is in P (Park, Automatic transmission) or N (Neutral, Manual transmis-
sion) with the vehicle in ON position
僅 When the vehicle is in OFF position
Non-operating condition(s)
僅 The vehicle speed is above 3 km/h (1.8 mph)
Automatic reverse
If the power tailgate senses any obstacle, the tailgate will stop or will fully open.
Operating condition(s)
僅 If the power tailgate senses any obstacles
Non-operating condition(s)
僅 If the detected resistance is below a certain level
僅 If the tailgate is almost fully closed near the latched position
僅 If a strong impact is applied with no obstructions placed
WARNING
僅 Never leave children or animals unattended in your vehicle. Children may operate the
power tailgate. Doing so can result in injury to themselves or others and can damage the
vehicle.
僅 Make sure that there are no people or objects in the path of the power tailgate or smart
tailgate prior to use. Serious injury, damage to the vehicle or damage to surrounding
objects (for example, walls, ceilings, vehicles, etc.) may result if contact with the tailgate
occurs.
