Vehicle controls
- The film on the sensor is not removed.
- The registered fingerprint is damaged or swollen.
- The hand is overly dry.
- The sensor is touched shortly.
僅 If fingerprint authentication fails over 5 consecutive times, fingerprint enrollment and
deletion may be temporarily restricted. You should try it later or try other methods such
as inputting your password.
僅 When you visit an authorized Kia dealer/service partner to repair parts due to fingerprint
authorization system or related part failure, your registered fingerprint might be deleted.
Have your smart key when you visit an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
僅 You cannot use the fingerprint sensor when the vehicle is discharged.
僅 If you turn the engine on or off while proceeding the fingerprint authorization, the pro-
cess will not be complete.
WARNING
Do not enroll children's fingerprints in the vehicle.If you enroll children's fingerprints and
leave them in the vehicle, unexpected accidents may occur.
Used vehicle
When purchasing a used vehicle
If you purchase a used vehicle, you should confirm and delete all of the enrolled finger-
prints in Driver 1 and Driver 2 profile.
Door locks

WARNING
僅 Before performing this procedure, remove any jewelry or objects that could damage the
paintwork and do not attempt to use tools or excessive force.
僅 Do not hit the vehicle too hard as dents may occur. You should use a force similar to
knocking on your neighbor's door.
僅 If a power door lock ever fails to function while you are in the vehicle, try one or more of
the following techniques to exit:
- Operate the door unlock feature repeatedly (both electronic and manual) while simul-
taneously pulling on the door handle.
- Operate the other door locks and handles, front and rear.
- Lower a front window and use the mechanical key to unlock the door from outside.
- Move to the cargo area and open the tailgate.
僅 Do not pull the inner door handle of driver's (or passenger's) door while the vehicle is
moving.
僅 The doors should always be fully closed and locked while the vehicle is in motion to pre-
vent accidental opening of the door. Locked doors will also discourage potential intrud-
ers when the vehicle stops or slows down.
僅 Be careful when opening doors and watch out for vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles or
pedestrians approaching the vehicle in the path of the door. Opening a door when
something is approaching can result in an accident to cause vehicle damage or serious
injury.
