Driving on snow-covered or icy roads
僅 Start off slowly by applying the accelerator pedal gently
僅 Use snow tires or tire chains.
僅 Keep sufficient distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.
僅 Using the regenerative braking helps the steering on the downhill. However it is difficult

ing as much as possible.
僅 Avoid speeding, rapid acceleration, sudden brake applications, and sharp turns to pre-
vent skids.

other vehicles and drive slowly.
Driving in sand or mud
僅 Maintain a slow, constant speed.
僅 Use tire chains driving in mud if necessary.

- Before starting off, check if it is possible to drive uphill.
僅 Driving downhill
- Drive straight as possible.
Driving through water
僅 Try to avoid driving in deep standing water.

drive under 8 km/h (5 mph).
僅 Do not change gear while driving in water.
Tires
When replacing the tires, be sure to equip all four tires with the tire and wheel of the same
size, type, tread, brand and load-carrying capacity.
In case of emergency such as tire puncture, repair it using TMK (Tire Mobility Kit) for tem-
porary use. Afterwards, have the tire be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer/service
partner.
Towing
4WD vehicles must be towed with a wheel lift and dollies or flatbed equipment with all the
wheels off the ground. For more information, refer to "Towing" on page 8-22.
