Vehicle controls
僅 Ready Indicator READY
When the ready indicator goes OFF or blinks, there is a problem with the system. In this
case, Kia recommend that you have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer/
service partner.
WARNING
僅 Parking brake & brake fluid warning light
- Driving the vehicle with a warning light ON is dangerous. If the parking brake & brake
fluid warning light appears with the parking brake released, it indicates that the brake
fluid level is low.
- In this case, have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends
visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
僅 Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) system warning light
- When both ABS and parking brake & brake fluid warning lights are on, the brake sys-
tem will not work normally and you may experience an unexpected and dangerous
situation during sudden braking.
- In this case, avoid high speed driving and abrupt braking. We recommend you have
the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer/service partner as soon as possible.
僅 Safe stopping
- The TPMS cannot alert you to severe and sudden tire damage caused by external fac-
tors.
- If you notice any vehicle instability, immediately take your foot off the accelerator
pedal, apply the brakes gradually with light force, and slowly move to a safe position
off the road.
NOTE
僅 Make sure that all warning lights are OFF after starting the vehicle. If any light is still ON,
this indicates a situation that needs attention.
僅 Power down indicator light
- Do not accelerate or start the vehicle suddenly when the power down indicator light is
ON.
When the power is limited for the safety of the high-powered parts of an electric vehicle,
the power down indicator light appears. Your vehicle may not be driven, or may roll
back on a slope with the indicator light ON.
僅 Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) system warning light
- When the ABS warning light is on or both ABS and Parking Brake & Brake Fluid warn-
ing lights are on, the speedometer, odometer, or tripmeter may not work. Also, the EPS
warning light may appear and the steering effort may increase or decrease.
- In this case, avoid high speed driving and abrupt braking. We recommend you have
the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer/service partner as soon as possible.
僅 The Electronic Parking Brake EPB warning light may appear when the Electronic Stabil-
ity Control (ESC) indicator light comes on to indicate that the ESC is not working prop-
erly (This does not indicate malfunction of the EPB).
僅 Continuous driving with the LED Headlight warning light on or blinking can reduce LED
headlight life.
