4 Remove all hard drives from the failed Array module or Expansion
module chassis (see
Caution: You must note the number of each hard drive and
temporarily label them before removal so that you can
install each of them in the correct location in the
replacement Array module or Expansion module
chassis.
5 Remove both power supplies from the failed Array module or
Expansion module chassis (see
Power Supply on page 198).
6 Do one of the following:
• Remove both Array module controllers from the failed Array
module chassis (see
page 202). Make sure to label them "Controller A" (left
controller as you face the rear of the module) and "Controller B"
(right controller as you face the rear of the module).
• Remove both Expansion module ESM canisters from the failed
Expansion module chassis (see
ESM Canister
(left canister as you face the rear of the module) and "ESM B"
(right canister as you face the rear of the module).
Installing a Replacement Array or Expansion Module Chassis
To install the replacement DXi6900 G1 Array module or Expansion
module chassis:
1 Install the hard drives from the failed Array module or Expansion
module chassis in the correct locations in the replacement chassis
(see Replacing a Node Hard Drive
Caution: You must install each hard drive in its correct location.
If the hard drive locations are not correct, the system
will not function.
2 Install the power supplies from the failed Array module or
Expansion module chassis in the replacement chassis (see
