6 Verify the RAID BIOS settings on the replacement PERC H710:
a Turn on the system (see
System
on page 23).
b During the boot process, press <Ctrl+R> when prompted to
enter the PERC H710 RAID controller BIOS.
c Verify that the RAID BIOS options are correctly set as follows:
• Enable Controller BIOS - Enabled
• Enable BIOS Stop on Error - Disabled
• Enable Auto Import - Enabled
d Exit the RAID BIOS and allow the system to start up.
7 If Data-at-Rest Encryption is enabled on the system, enable the
replacement PERC H710 for encryption (see
Encryption on a Replacement Integrated Storage Controller
page 139).
8 Run Factory Detect Hardware from the Service Menu to detect the
new hardware (see
9 In the remote management console, delete any administrative alerts
and close any service tickets.
Note: After replacing the integrated storage controller, a background
initialization automatically occurs on all LUNs. This process is
non-destructive, and data is not affected. However, system
performance is reduced during the background initialization,
which takes 3.5–11.0 hours.
Enabling Data-at-Rest Encryption on a Replacement
Integrated Storage Controller
If Data-at-Rest Encryption is enabled on the system, additional steps are
required to enable the encryption keys on the replacement PERC H710
controller. Until the keys are enabled on the new H710 controller, the
system cannot boot from the boot hard drives.
