4.5.5 Accelerators

Accelerators (A) are mounted on each outboard disc and
are designed to quickly move cut material off the disc and
into the conditioner.
One pair of accelerators is installed at each outboard end of
a 13-foot self-propelled disc header, whereas a 16-foot self-
propelled disc header has two pairs at each end.
Periodically inspect accelerators for damage and loose or
missing fasteners, and replace as necessary.
IMPORTANT:
Always replace accelerators in pairs to ensure proper disc
balance.
