Reconfigure the system to its original condition. Go to "Map 0410: Repair Checkout" in the
Eserver pSeries Diagnostic Information for Multiple Bus Systems
Step 1542-7
The pSeries 650 Model 6M2 server may have up to four I/O subsystems attached to each of the four pairs
of RIO ports of the base system. The following steps reduce the system I/O to only the I/O of the base
system.
1. Turn off the system power.
2. At the base system, disconnect the cable connection at RIO port 0 of RIO connector card 1
(U0.1-P1-H1/Q1). Record all connections.
3. At the base system, disconnect the cable connection at RIO port 1 of RIO connector card 1
(U0.1-P1-H1/Q2). Record all connections.
4. At the base system, disconnect the cable connection at RIO port 0 of RIO extender card 1
(U0.1-P1-H1.1/Q3), if present. Record all connections.
5. At the base system, disconnect the cable connection at RIO port 1 of RIO extender card 1
(U0.1-P1-H1.1/Q4), if present. Record all connections.
6. At the base system, disconnect the cable connection at RIO port 0 of RIO connector card 2
(U0.1-P1-H2/Q5), if present. Record all connections.
7. At the base system, disconnect the cable connection at RIO port 1 of RIO connector card 2
(U0.1-P1-H2/Q6), if present. Record all connections.
8. At the base system, disconnect the cable connection at RIO port 0 of RIO extender card 2
(U0.1-P1-H2.1/Q7), if present. Record all connections.
9. At the base system, disconnect the cable connection at RIO port 1 of RIO extender card 2
(U0.1-P1-H2.1/Q8), if present. Record all connections.
10. Disconnect the power cables from the I/O subsystem(s) that were attached to the base system. All
I/O subsystems should now be physically disconnected from the base system.
Go to "Step 1542-8."
Step 1542-8
The base system is running from the integrated I/O or from I/O attached to an adapter installed into one of
the integrated PCI slots.
1. Turn on the power to boot standalone diagnostics from CD.
2. If the Please define the System Console screen is displayed, follow directions to select the system
console.
3. Use the Display Configuration and Resource List to list all attached devices and adapters (refer to the
Eserver pSeries Diagnostic Information for Multiple Bus Systems, order number SA38-0509, if
necessary).
4. Check that all attached devices and adapters are listed.
If the Please define the System Console prompt did not display or all attached devices and adapters are
not listed, the problem is in the base system.
Did the Please define the System Console screen display and are all attached devices and adapters
listed?
No
Go to "Step 1542-32" on page 167.
