Maintenance Period Overview
In order to maintain the highest possible level of system performance, tech-
nical inspection and maintenance of the G-Arm system should be per-
formed periodically by qualified medical physicists, or the authorized
service personnel. However, the operator of this unit should take note of any
malfunctions and contact the manufacturer or the service personnel autho-
rized by the manufacturer if necessary.
Each time before use, parts or functions below shall be checked by the end
users before each use:
Cables and cable clamps (p127)
Movement of the Image Intensifier units (p128)
Wheel functionality for the Control Unit and the G-Arm (p129)
Laser light indicator (p129)
Monitor rotation (p130)
Function of the X-ray indicator lamp (p130)
Each time after use, the hospital should carefully clean the G-Arm system ac-
cording to the instructions described in "Cleaning and Disinfection" (p132)
The function below shall be checked by the end user twice a year:
Automatic Exposure Control (p78)
Once a year, qualified medical physicists or authorized service personnel
shall measure the following items:
Automatic Exposure Control (p130)
Accuracy of X-ray tube voltage (kV) (p131)
Notes
All the testing items should be conducted periodically and recorded prop-
erly, the recommended QC testing log is attached as in Appendix IV: QC
TEST LOG FORM (p175).
Should any testing item fail, please contact the manufacturer. For contact
information consult the last page of the user's manual.

Inspecting Cables

The following cables shall be inspected by the end users each time before
use:
Power Cable (L1)
Protective Earth Cable (L4)
