Use the following commands to define static ports for TCP and UDP ports:
The add pat tcp <name> command has the following parameters:
interface <name>
public_port <port_range>
private_address <ip address_range>
public_address <ip address>
The add pat tcp <name> command has the following parameters:
interface <name>
public_port <port_range>
private_address <ip address_range>
public_address <ip address>
There are some applications which will not work and others that will work if
additional options are configured.
Additional configuration is required to support applications which initiate
connections from a remote host and to support Servers on the local LAN which
have private addresses but can be made accessible from the public network.
To set the default workstation for Intelligent PAT, perform the following step from
the CLI:
OCG-Adsl>>set nat interface <interface name> workstation <default
workstation ip address>
With Network Address Translation (NAT), a pool of public addresses are configured
and are statically or dynamically mapped to private workstation addresses when
accesses are made through the gateway to a public network. The public to private
address mapping remains active until the privately addressed workstation stops
accessing the public network. The public address is then returned to the available
pool of addresses. When NAT is configured, static mappings and/or dynamic pools
of addresses must be configured. Static assignments permanently map a private
address to a public address. Dynamic pools consist of a start IP address and an end
IP address. Multiple pools can be assigned.
This section describes how to configure the use of NAT with Microsoft ®
NetMeeting.
If static NAT Mapping is being used, incoming traffic to the public address of the
static NAT policy will go to the private address in the policy. If the private address
in the policy is not who the incoming NetMeeting call is intended for, then it will
not work.
