– Release connector from engine control unit and unplug.
– Check databus cables with the terminating resistance in the ABS control unit:
– Measure the resistance between bushes 3 + 25 of the test box 1598/18.
For vehicles ► 04.99
Specified value: 115...135 Ω.
For vehicles 05.99 ►
Specified value: 2.3...2.8 kΩ.
For all vehicles
If the measured value does not correspond to the specified value:
– Test CAN databus cables
If the wiring to the ABS unit is in proper order:
– Replace ABS control unit:
If the measured value corresponds to the specified value:
– Fit again plug onto engine control unit.
– Remove air filter:
Unlock plug connection and remove from
–
ABS control unit.
Check databus cables with the
– terminating resistance in the engine
control unit:
Measure the resistance between bushes
–
3 + 25 of the test box 1598/18.
For vehicles ► 04.99
Specified value: 115...135 Ω.
For vehicles 05.99 ►
Specified value: 60...72 Ω.
For all vehicles
If the measured value does not correspond
to the specified value:
– Test CAN databus cables
If the lines are not found to be faulty:
– Replacing engine control unit
→ Anchor.
→ Chassis → Rep.
→ Anchor.
→ Chapter.
