Setting the Cutting Force
This setting determines the cutting force for a cutting operation, the pen force for a plotting operation and the creasing
force for a creasing operation. Please see Section 3.9, "Media and Cutting Conditions" for further details on the setting
values.
When cutting card, cardboard or similar media the cutting force that will be required changes according to the
cutting direction.
When you wish to set different cutting forces for the X and Y directions, select ENABLED for the SWITCHING XY
FORCE setting. (See Section 5.28, "Special Functions".)
<When ENABLED has been selected for the SWITCHING XY FORCE setting>
(1) With the plotter in Ready status, press a key from [F1] to [F4] to select the COND No. that you wish to change.
(2) Press the
[CONDITIONS] key to display the following screen. (The display will differ according to the setting
conditions that have been made.)

(3) Press the [F1] key to move the blinking cursor to the FORCE parameter.

(4) Use the [

] key to toggle between X and Y (but not when "PEN" has been selected for the cutter blade type).
When the direction that you wish to set the value for is displayed, use the [
Setting range (for both X and Y) for the FC4500-50/60 models: Tool holder 1: 1 to 48, Tool holder 2: 1 to 30
Setting range (for both X and Y) for the FC4510-60 model: Tool holder 1: 1 to 48, Tool holder 2: 1 to 48
If different values have been set for X and Y, the cutting force in the diagonal direction will be a value between the X
and Y values, and will vary according to the angle.

(5) When the displayed settings are correct, press the
key.
