3.9 Media and Cutting Conditions

Amount of blade protrusion
Use the thickness given for each media type in the following table as a reference when setting the amount of
blade protrusion (blade length). For details on how to adjust the blade length, see Section 2.4, "Adjusting the
Blade Length" and the "Blade Length Adjustment" sub-section in Section 3.9, "Running a Cutting Test".
FORCE, SPEED, QUALITY
Use the following table as a guideline to set these conditions. Please see Section 3.7, "Setting the Cutting
Conditions", for the setting procedures.
OFFSET
The offset varies according to the type of blade being used. Use the following table as a guideline to set this
condition. Please see Section 3.7, "Setting the Cutting Conditions", for the setting procedures.

Select "OTHER" when using a blade type that is not listed in the table above or when a cutting operation using a thick
or otherwise difficult-to-cut medium produces unsatisfactory results, and then alternately adjust the OFFSET value and
run a cutting test until the desired results are achieved.
The table below lists the guideline OFFSET settings when the blade type is set to OTHER.
