5.18 Setting the Initial Cutting Force
This function is effective in THICK mode, the mode used mainly to cut thick media. When a thick medium
is cut, more time than usual may be required for the blade to reach the base of the medium even if a
suitable cutting force has been specified. If this happens, the cutting operation may start before the blade
has reached the base and the medium may not be cut through at the start point. Specifying the START
CUT FORCE adds the START CUT FORCE value to the specified FORCE value that becomes effective
immediately after the pen down operation, thereby enabling the blade to reach the base of the medium in a
shorter period of time. (If, for example, 25 has been specified for the FORCE value and 4 is specified for the
START CUT FORCE value, the cutting force after the pen down operation temporarily becomes 29.)
(1) Press the
[PAUSE] key to select PAUSE mode.
(2) Press the
[NEXT] key repeatedly until the following menu is displayed.
